An excellent looking model and a fitting tribute to Brother Edward! Very nice looking base too. Did you have to cut the model off his slot? I don't think I've ever seen an older metal model with such a built up base before. It really stands out (in a good way).
Yes I did cut off the slot. However, I pinned his left foot to replace the extra stability/strength a slot gives.
Something I also do from time to time is just cutting off the middle part of the slot so you keep the extra holding-strength of the model to the base, but are more free in doing what you want with the base in the centre.
